HFA Creativity Contest: Music
This spring, UCSB’s Humanities and Fine Arts Division hosted a creativity contest to highlight creative student voices across the UCSB campus. The following are the winning submissions in the music category.
1ST PLACE WINNER
Just A Kid
By Noah Vela
Noah Vela is a singer and songwriter from the San Gabriel Valley. His winning song “Just a Kid” is from his debut album “I Wanna Live,” released in 2022.
2ND PLACE WINNER
Breathe
By Charlie Prindle
Charlie Prindle is a fourth-year student majoring in Music Studies with an emphasis in Western Art. He plans to pursue composition and sound design in the video game industry.
3RD PLACE WINNER
Performance of “Volta La Terrea” by Verdi

Violet Joy Hanson is a fourth-year student at UCSB double majoring in Theater and Music. After graduation, Hanson plans to pursue an MFA in Musical Theatre Pedagogy from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee.
